About the Appalachian State University Office of Arts & Cultural Programs
Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Office of Arts & Cultural Programs to enrich, expand, and enhance the cultural climate of Appalachian State University and the regional community through the ongoing presentation of intellectually and aesthetically challenging programs which may not otherwise be available. These programs will seek to supplement, support, and enhance the ongoing academic curriculum at Appalachian State University, while expanding audiences' awareness of and accessibility to the arts. In fulfilling this mission, the Office of Arts & Cultural Programs strives to build a better understanding of, and appreciation for, the profound importance of the arts in the life of the University, community, and the broader society.
Mandate Statement
The Office of Arts & Cultural Programs will achieve its mission through the presentation and production of a comprehensive, year-round program of activities that represents the finest in the performing arts, visual arts, and humanities. Furthermore, the Office of Arts & Cultural Programs will recognize no limits as to geography, historical period, or artistic interpretation in the presentation of these activities.
